Lee Boyd's nomination was a joke

THE EDITOR, Sir:
I DON'T get it! What was that about CVM newsmaker of the year awards? What's this about awarding negative behaviour? Lee Boyd's mother was invited to collect a plaque on his behalf. Was this some kind of joke? I can understand the nomination but wouldn't it have been better to just award the positive newsmakers while simply acknowledging the others? What if Lee had won?
A suggestion to CVM Start a programme on family life highlighting the importance of parents staying connected with their offspring.
