The SDA and the silent church

THE EDITOR, Sir:
IN REFERENCE to a letter of past weeks in The Gleaner, headlined 'The Silent Church', a Seventh-Day Adventist minister took the issue both on the air and by letter to the Editor. Sir, I hold no brief for any religion, however, I can see no reason for the SDA religion to be up against anyone saying the silent church unless the SDA is claiming to be the church, which would be a devil's lie.
Our Lord Jesus says upon this rock I will build my church etc., and anyone making claims to be this church that Jesus talks about must be certain what they are saying, giving proof on numbers etc. Only goes to prove the falsehoods of those who are claiming to be the church. The facts are our Lord Jesus told us the way to the true church, strive to enter in at the straight gate for broad is the way and wide is the gate which leadeth to destruction, many enter therein.
Remember our Lord's followers were the humble poor. The word church is a common noun and any group can join together and call themselves the church and even get licenced by Government. This does not mean that they are the church. May Jesus help us to follow truth. Happy New Year.
I am, etc.,
