Ageing leaders, fading vision
published: Wednesday | January 28, 2004

THE EDITOR, Sir:

WHEN WE get old we can't do what we use to do when we were young. Now that our leaders are old they don't want to step down. They are still there holding on to power.

It is time for them to step aside right now and give the younger people a chance. Their voices change, their sight is fading, so what are they waiting for? They need to turn to God now and stop saying that they are not ready to leave public life and stop reaping our tax dollars because they are not doing anything for the poor people in this country.

I need a change of leadership in my country. Crime rate is very high with murders, rape and incest. And as the police act, the public criticise them. Are we going with these ageing leaders who form the laws and then break them? Young people wake up and start working for your country.

I am, etc.,

J.J.
