Little respect for life
published: Wednesday | January 28, 2004

THE EDITOR, Sir:

SO LITTLE is the respect for life that it is appalling! It would be better if we could go back to the times when especially people like Jamaicans respect God, respect themselves, respect others so there and then a keener interest as a result for life.

The situation today puts me back to my childhood when people would act towards one another in a manner to show that we cared. I need not mention the situation where people are hurt enough to take their own lives. Too much of that is happening today and I urge that if there is someone out there with that thought; spare a moment, pause and reason with someone - you never can tell that someone could come up with an idea. It could even be a salvation and tomorrow may be a better day.

I am, etc.,

MINNA ATKINS DAVIS
