SPALDINGS, Clarendon:

AN ALTERCATION between two Garvey Maceo High School students in Clarendon yesterday has left one nursing a stab wound and the other being questioned and counselled by the Clarendon police.

Reports reaching The Gleaner are that about 12:30 p.m. a fourth form student and another who is said to be in third form had a fuss over a pair of glasses. The glasses, which reportedly belonged to the third form student, was allegedly taken away by the older boy.

ANOTHER STUDENT

Another student who is said to be on an extension programme at the school reportedly intervened on behalf of the third form student and the fourth former was stabbed in the head.

The wounded student was treated by the school nurse and the police were called in.

The extension student, who fled the scene, returned to the campus at about 2:45 p.m. while the police were still there. He was taken to the office and questioned as well as given counselling by the lawmen. His parents were also called in.

When The Gleaner went to the school, the wounded student was seen with his head bandaged and blood stains on his khaki shirt.
