Captain's Bakery's league postponed
published: Thursday | January 29, 2004

THE OPENING ceremony and dress parade for the 2004 Captain's Bakery's schoolgirls football league scheduled for the Spanish Town Prison Oval today has been postponed.

Defending champions Queen's were down to play Clan Carthy in the day's opener but due to the violence in the old capital, the Inter-Secondary Schools Sports Association (ISSA) decided it would be unsafe to proceed.

Meanwhile, two more schools have exited the competition. Penwood and Dinthill Technical are the latest to withdraw after Clarendon College and Alston had earlier made their way out. Mona made their way into competition to replace Penwood.
