'Strangulation of broadcasting truth'
published: Friday | January 30, 2004
THE EDITOR, SIR:
FOLLOWING THE recent systematically-orchestrated slow lingering strangulation of broadcast truth in the United States we sadly regret to announce it finally kicked the bucket in the U.K. too.
On January 28, 2004 a yeoman peer and pillar of the establishment, Lord Hutton, publicly relished castrating - on a comparatively minor (nay, insignificant) technicality - the BBC, the last remaining international English-language source of TV and radio truth - however scant - about events leading-up and subsequent to the criminally negligent weapons of mass blah blah invasion and catastrophic occupation of Iraq by the Willing White Christian Coalition of Only Two-and-a-Half.
Within months expect to see a British-accented mirror of Fox News.
I am, etc.,
