IN A show of solidarity with residents on Sunday, over 600 members from different churches in Spanish Town, St. Catherine, marched through communities wracked by over two weeks of gun violence and prayed for the relatives of those shot and killed or injured.
The march, which started about 2:00 p.m. near the Shelter Rock community, moved on to Jones Avenue where six persons were killed last week.
The tour was joined by Sharon Haye-Webster, Member of Parliament for St. Catherine southern and Dr. Raymoth Notice, Mayor of Spanish Town.
ASSISTING POLICE EFFORTS
Mrs. Haye-Webster implored residents of the affected communities to assist the police by giving information. She also told them that if they are afraid to do it, they should call the Commissioner's office directly, her office, Terrence Brown, head of the Minister's Fraternal.
The march ended at the Social Develop-ment Commission's (SDC) office along Port Henderson Drive, Spanish Town.
