Ja's Fuller to stay with Preston
published: Wednesday | February 4, 2004

LONDON, CMC:

IT HAS been confirmed that Jamaican striker Ricardo Fuller will remain at English First Division club Preston North End for the rest of the season.

North End boss Craig Brown is thrilled that he will have his ace forward in the fold until the end of the season and he believes Fuller can prove to be a vital element in PNE's push for promotion.

"Obviously with 17 goals in the games that he has played in, he has missed five matches for us and he has still got 17 goals. If in the remaining 18 games that we have got to play he gets another 17 he will be doing us a real turn and he will put us in pole position," Brown said in a story on the club's web-site.

"His influence is terrific. When he is scoring he is a great player and unstoppable at our level," Brown added.

The transfer window now closed, means it is the end of rumours that abounded of a move for Fuller to a Premiership club.

"My phone hasn't been ringing today which is good news because for the last month agents have been ringing with one thing and another," Brown said.

"The lads who are here under contract look focused on the target for the remainder of the season and that is to get Preston North End into at least the top six in this Nationwide First Division," he said.
