Adams cleared
published: Monday | February 23, 2004

By Omar Anderson , Gleaner Writer

THE POLICE Service Commission (PSC) has cleared Senior Superintendent (SSP) Reneto Adams of any wrongdoing associated with his recent press interviews.

SSP Adams was reprimanded by Police Commissioner Francis Forbes in January following a series of 'unauthorised' press interviews.

Apart from the reprimand, Commissioner Forbes also wrote to SSP Adams advising him that he (Forbes) had also written to the PSC, recommending that disciplinary action be taken against the officer.

However, sources told The Gleaner on Friday that the PSC had decided not to discipline Adams after reviewing the matter.

Contacted on Friday, SSP Adams said the matter was confidential, and that he would not offer comment. He referred The Gleaner to the Constabulary Communication Network, whose head, Superintendent Ionie Ramsay-Nelson, said she was not aware of the decision.
