Impending danger

THE EDITOR, Sir:
IN COMPARISON to the crisis in Haiti, Jamaicans are very generous, and helpful to others. We in South Florida have experienced many problems with refugees in our area. Please be warned to be aware of the major problems you will encounter if many flee to Jamaica. We have found that because of the behaviour of many of these people, Jamaicans, and Americans cannot find a job, for after awhile, they take over all of your businesses, stores, jobs, and literally drive you out. They will look out for each other, and don't care if you starve.
This is a fact, so be aware, you may have to fight with arms in the future if you are not careful. Experience is the best teacher, so be aware. We are registered nurses who have experienced this problem, and many of these people are unqualified to do the job correctly. We believe that you should teach them to be self sufficient in their own land, as it will serve their cause in the long run.
Once you open the doors to Jamaica, and word gets around, thousands will come. It is apparent that Jamaica has enough problems; don't take on any more. A country that has experienced military coups, take-overs for more than 200 years, is one who cannot be satisfied with any one elected, or otherwise. If the USA is saying enough, no more, you should ask yourself the question , why?
I am, etc.,
