Letter of the day - A 'don' on every corner
THE EDITOR, Sir: THE CRIME problem has got everybody shaking in their boots. Of particular significance is the problem of extortion. It appears that there is a 'don' on every corner across the length and breadth of Jamaica.

Haitians deserve a chance
THE EDITOR, Sir: I WOULD like to use this medium to respond to a letter entitled 'Deport the Haitians' published in the Thursday Gleaner dated February 26, 2004.

Offended
THE EDITOR, Sir: AS A Haitian-American, I feel offended by the comments of Mr. Ulrich May. If Boukman was alive, he would realise that there is a lot more work to be done.

Lenders should pay extra
THE EDITOR, Sir: SHOULDN'T IT be mandatory that developers, building societies, banks and other mortgagors pay interest to clients for monies deposited on houses and buildings under construction?

Poor Jamaica
THE EDITOR, Sir: I AGREE with Ulrich May, we are a small country, we cannot afford the influx of refugees that are descending on our shores, you take one and they all will follow, send them back and let America take them.

Remembering Rev Cuthbert
THE EDITOR, Sir: FEBRUARY 24, 2004 is 19 years since the death of Rev. Dr. R.M. Cuthbert (1935-1985), former president of the Executive Board of Moravian Church.
