A all-time crime low
published: Monday | March 1, 2004

THE EDITOR, Sir:

JAMAICA HAS reached an all time crime low, perhaps reaching back to 1692 when Port Royal was regarded as being the richest and wickedest place on earth. Well, are the human rights group now more comfortable? Are they totally satisfied with where the country has reached or are they awaiting anarchy bordering on Haiti-like proportions?

When the crime statistics are announced, I hear little or no remarks from our many humanitarian groups. When they do comment they find some way of blaming the police. Be warned, they will soon start blaming the victims as well!

You know, I do believe many persons join these groups thinking they are being just and fair and that the way to go is to fight against establishments (Babylon). The Bible, however, has an answer to that. In the Old Testament, with regard to what is now commonly called, 'State killing', it says "if a man sheds another's blood, then by man's hand should his blood be shed." The religious stickler might say, "but Jesus changed all that." Not so, my friend! He said, "the sword is not in the hand of the government for naught."

BOUND FOR RUIN

God knows that without law and order, a country is bound for ruin. Many Christians are going to be disappointed to learn that Jesus will rule with a rod of iron. Jamaica is now too open - it has become a haven to every group, cult, religious and rights group that are geared toward one end, a humanistic view that has nothing to do with God's requirements. As a matter of fact, if studied carefully you might find that if they totally oppose God's position on a lot of things, they might even tell you that man is god!

It might be too late now to put a spoke in the wheel turning downhill; as strange as it might seem, this atmosphere suits some persons; it is in their best interest to keep the country in the state of near anarchy and do not be fooled, they will kill to keep it this way.

I am, etc.,

ANGELIQUE DARUS
