LIFE OF Jamaica Limited (LoJ) saluted its mega producers in a gala star-studded ceremony befitting their stellar performance for 2003 at the Pegasus Hotel, New Kingston recently.

A performance which, according to outgoing CEO, Maxine Maclure, saw LoJ achieving $621.3 million of new annualised premiums, 84 per cent agent productivity and 89 per cent conservation.

This, she pointed out, translates to 136 per cent of the revised new annualised premiums target and well over 150 per cent of the original target for the year.

Albert Lyon from the Half-Way Tree Branch emerged as the champion producer for the company, earning the LoJ Trophy and qualifying for the prestigious Million Dollar Round Table (MDRT) at the Court of the Table level. Also registering outstanding performances were Waldemar Bramwell from the Corporate Circle Branch, Oswald Martin, who earned the Conservation Trophy; Lloyd Robinson from Belmont-Dukes and Vernon O'Sullivan from the Independent Unit, who earned the Employee's Benefit Trophy.

LADIES STANDING TALL

Not to be outdone, the ladies also were in winning form, with Suzanne James from Liguanea Branch capturing the Rookie Trophy, Darla Brown from Corporate Circle copping the Pansy Ennevor Trophy and Marjorie Laird earning the Danny Williams Trophy.

Guest speaker for the evening's function, Minna Israel, deputy managing director, Bank of Nova Scotia, reminded the gathering of the importance of integrity in business dealings, stating that in a globalised world there was also the necessity to globalise integrity.

She said, "Let us promote a culture of honesty and integrity at the workplace which will reverberate from our boardrooms into the wider society, thus building up Jamaica into a society of which we can be proud."

The company had over 100 agents qualifying for the MDRT with five agents at the Court of the Table level and 46 agents joining president Majorie Laird as qualifiers for the Century Club in 2003.
