Jamaica Gleaner Letters
published: Tuesday | March 2, 2004

A victory for terrorist forces
THE EDITOR , Sir: THE FORCED departure of Haitian President Aristide from office will go down in history as a victory for the terrorist and subversive forces that have staged this coup d'etat against the first democratically elected-head of state...

'Typical of Carib politics'
THE EDITOR , Sir: AFTER THREE weeks of protest from his own people and pressure from the international community President Aristide has finally fled Haiti.

Adams, blessing to the Force
THE EDITOR, Sir: RE: THE clarification of the case of Adams.

'Adding mud to muddy water'
THE EDITOR, Sir: I READ with interest a letter from the police, 'Clarifying Case of Adams'. That letter has done an excellent job of muddying the already feculent water even further, but perhaps that is the intention.

Kudos to Ja
THE EDITOR, Sir: It is with great pride that I read the February 27, 2004 news article in The Gleaner entitled 'More Haitians arrive Refugees to be transferred to Montpelier, St. James'.

Life of suffering, deprivation
THE EDITOR, Sir: IT BEHOVES Jamaican leaders to think deeply about the Jamaican children that they are scarring. The Minister of Finance pursues policies with an apparent disregard for the human element. The human part of the equation.

Do not abandon our brothers
THE EDITOR, Sir: WE SHOULD not abandon the brothers and sisters from Haiti. Why send them back into a death trap? It is full time we stand up for one another and not try to look good in the eyes of our colonial masters.

Good job, Ja Broilers
THE EDITOR , Sir: GOOD GOING, Jamaica Broilers, for helping the Haitians. Let's hope you and other companies will contribute to our own people when the need really arises.

Alan D. Clarke
THE EDITOR, Sir: I AM writing in hopes that this letter will be published and it will assist us in the efforts of finding my husband's father.

Richard Stephenson
THE EDITOR, Sir: I WOULD like your help in locating my father, Richard Stephenson, known as 'Chippy Dipps'. I was told he lives in Kingston but may have moved to the USA.
