'Adding mud to muddy water'

THE EDITOR, Sir:

I READ with interest a letter from the police, 'Clarifying Case of Adams'. That letter has done an excellent job of muddying the already feculent water even further, but perhaps that is the intention.

Will the public be informed why a communication about a public officer regarding the performance of a public duty is confidential?
