Positive impact
published: Wednesday | March 3, 2004

THE EDITOR, Sir:

ON SEPTEMBER 12, 2003, two youths left Jamaica and headed for Norway. One would think that the reason would be to do further studies. This was not the case though, as Kevin Francis and Marcia Sinclair were Instructors in HIV representing Jamaica Red Cross. This was the start of a 10-month exchange programme with the Norwegian Red Cross.

Over the past five months they have gotten accustomed to the cold winter and have excelled in their work too.

Both Kevin and Marcia were selected to conduct HIV training in Africa (Gambia) for one week.

Jamaica has gotten a lot of bad press over the years but there are still positive impacts that can make a difference to this. Let us continue to do our little bits to make positive impacts for our beautiful island.

I am, etc.,

MARCIA SINCLAIR
