Linton

Tyrone Reid, Staff Reporter

OWNER OF the Arrows Recording Studio, Phillip Linton, was murdered on Thursday morning just as he was about to enter his business place.

Linton is the second entertainment manager to be killed in less than two weeks. Paul Tyrell, tour manager of Shocking Vibes Promotions, was shot dead on February 24.

According to the police, at about 9:15 a.m. Mr. Linton, of Buena Vista Terrace, Kingston 6, arrived at his business place located at Windward Road in Kingston.

It is alleged that he was entering the building when explosions were heard. Mr. Linton was later found suffering from a gunshot wound. He was subsequently taken to the Kingston Public Hospital where he was pronounced dead.

NO MOTIVE

The Elletson Road Police have not yet established a motive for the killing. Linton's death is just nine days after the slaying of Tyrell.

The police reported that Tyrell, 32, was driving his Toyota Rav 4 along Springvale Avenue close to Constant Spring Road, St. Andrew when he was attacked by a lone gunman, who shot him several times.

Linton's death has pushed the murders since the beginning of March to over 15, and the overall death toll since the start of the year to 198.
