THE NEW York/New Jersey MetroStars announced on Thursday that they have acquired Jamaican forward Fabian Taylor for their USMajor League Soccer (MLS) 2004 season.
Pending visa approval, Taylor is slated to join the Metros in Fort Lauderdale on March 9 for the third leg of the team's pre-season training.
"Fabian is an exciting young forward with an excellent goalscoring record," said MetroStars Head Coach Bob Bradley.
"We are excited to bring him to the MetroStars and we believe that he is a good addition to our young team. We feel he has the potential to make an impact for the MetroStars," Bradley said in an MLS web site story.
The 23-year-old Taylor has earned 29 caps with the Jamaican National Team since making his first appearance with the full team in 1999.

With the Reggae Boyz, he has tallied nine goals.
On the club level, Taylor has spent the last four years with Harbour View Football Club in the Wray and Nephew National Premier League, Jamaica's top professional soccer league.
"We are excited to be able to sign an up-and-coming goal scorer like Fabian," said MetroStars President and General Manager Nick Sakiewicz.
"Fabian has proved on both the club and national team level that he is able to score goals, and that is an area that we are trying to address this off season," Sakiewicz added.
