Visitors see Negril as 'rife with crime'
THE EDITOR, Sir: MY WIFE and I have journeyed to Jamaica eight times over the last six years. We visit the whole of the island but stay in Negril. It is about the sad and quick deterioration of Negril that I write.

J'cans deserve an explanation
THE EDITOR, Sir: THE JAMAICAN people deserve an explanation of the Government's anger at the ousting of the 'democratically elected' Haitian leader.

The U.S. and Haiti
THE EDITOR, Sir: ALLENDE BROUGHT about his peaceful Communist Govern-ment in Chile by ballot, not bullet.

A call for the death penalty
THE EDITOR, Sir: YOUR PUBLISHED letter by Mr. Byfield of Boscobel, has me now convinced, that my letters to you (unpublished), were not stupid.

Utility companies and the MoU
THE EDITOR, Sir: THE JAMAICA Public Service Company has just applied for a rate increase. The National Water Commission has just received a rate increase.

'Something looming on the horizon'
THE EDITOR, Sir: THE FACT that students in the age group 17 to 19 years of age are not advancing beyond secondary School level is an indication of something looming on the horizon.

A disincentive in 'buying Jamaican'
THE EDITOR, Sir: I support the 'Buy Jamaica Campaign'. However, we as Jamaicans, especially our farmers, need to facilitate the process.

Only word to back our views
THE EDITOR, Sir: THE FATE of Mr. Aristide and our real impotence to back our views with anything other than words can be directly related to the fact that we are part of a 'cash poor' region.

Politicians at it again
THE EDITOR, Sir: OUR 'BLOW hot air' politicians are it again; making as if they are serious about punishing tax cheats.

Eric Delevante
THE EDITOR, Sir: I AM trying to find my grandfather whom I have never met nor has my mother, who is now 69! I was told by her that his name is Eric Delevante(Jamaican) and that he came from Westmoreland.

Jackie Smiley
THE EDITOR, Sir: MY NAME is Shari Smiley and I live in Toronto, Ontario, Canada. I've recently started to look for my biological mother and all I know about her is that her name is Jackie Smiley and she lives in Jamaica.
