THE EDITOR, Sir:
THE RESIDENTS of Meadow Lands and Evans Height in May Pen, Clarendon are asking you to use your media to plead with the National Water Commission on our behalf to give us water in our pipes.
For years there has been little or no water in this area, and we are still charged and have to pay for water, which we do not get. Individual pleas to different managers at the NWC's office in May Pen have gone to deaf ears or received empty promises. A few persons who can afford it have built water tanks, and have to purchase their water from the Rapid Response trucks.
However, there are those of us who cannot afford this costly venture, and we resist the blocking of roads and burning of tyres in protest. So, we are using this medium to voice our distress, and asking the NWC to remedy this long overdue and distressing situation immediately.
The NWC needs to live up to their motto "Water is Life". We need life here in these two areas of May Pen.
We are etc.,

LANDS AND EVANS
