Ms. Ritch's comments are out of hand

THE EDITOR, Sir:
IT IS very unfortunate that only a few years ago Dawn Ritch was one of my favourite newspaper correspondents. Ms Ritch's personal attacks on the Prime Minister of late are getting out of hand, her facts are to say the least stretched. Who in their right mind could question the statements made by the PM over the last few weeks since the downfall of the most recent former Haitian PM.
For the record our PM has been a truthful straightforward person. Level any amount of criticism you want against him but he is not a liar, we can't exactly say that about other office holders to our north. The PM has responded to statements made by Mr. Aristide, he has never said (not in the media) that anyone was lying. When you have two conflicting reports of such an important issue as removing a head of state, an investigation by reputable independent body is advisable. What part of that does Ms Ritch disagree with, or what is racially distinguishable about it?
Race seem to be Ms Ritch's buzz word of late, she is determined to find racism in every issue. I know racism still exists in Jamaica but I thought we were far past this stage. Every time we try to put the past behind us someone who has ready access to local media try to pull us backward.
I am, etc.,
