C&W selling four properties
published: Wednesday | March 24, 2004

CABLE & Wireless Jamaica (C&WJ) is placing four Corporate Area properties and excess portions of a fifth on the market.

The properties are located on Camp Road; North Street; Constant Spring Road (Mary Brown's Corner) and Bell Road, and excess portions of its property at Chalmers Avenue, the company said in a statement.

Disposal of these properties follows the rationalisation of the company's operations in areas such as training, materials management and customer service operations and the reduction in staff complement over the last three to four years.

This has resulted in more diverse functions being concentrated in some remaining locations.

"The optimisation of space utilisation at other properties, our reduced staff and the overhaul of how the company conducts its business, have made it prudent and possible for the company to dispose of these assets,' said Andrew Cherry, CW&J's senior vice-president for finance.

The sale of the properties is being handled by Property Consultants Limited.
