THE REGGAE Boyz and Honduras played to a 2-2 scoreline in last night's international friendly game at the National Stadium as both teams continue preparations for the World Cup qualifiers.

Onandi Lowe's eighth minute header and Fabian Davis' 52nd minute strike injected life in to the 26,000 fans that streamed into the National Stadium as hope built of a second consecutive win for Jamaica.

However, Emil Martinez, within seconds of replacing Roy Posas, scored Honduras' first goal in the 67th minute and Milton Nunez evened the score in the 78th minute.

Garfield Reid made a beautiful run down the left flank and skipped past three Honduran defenders to assist Lowe on his goal. Davis with a spectacular solo effort, stole the ball from a Honduran defender and struck a powerful shot past Noel Valladares in goal.

After a good first half, Jamaica's midfield went to pieces as Amado Guevara and Edgar Alvarez marshalled the field and led their team in its comeback efforts.

Jamaica apparently relaxed on their 2-0 lead while Honduras rekindled their old fire. Captain and goalie Donovan Ricketts along with Claude Davis had to be replaced in the second half as old injuries were aggravated.

Jamaica's technical director Carl Brown said these injuries affected the play of his team.

"Old injuries began to plague the players and we had to take out Donovan Ricketts," said Brown.

"We had to pull Claude Davis and Garfield Reid out also because of injury but that aside we played well for the first 45 minutes and I don't believe we played badly," he stated.

Honduras' coach Bora Milutinovic in the most diplolamtic manner said it was a good game for the fans and that he was honoured to play such a talented team as Jamaica.
