Help your suffering brothers
published: Friday | April 2, 2004

THE EDITOR, Sir:

WE MAY not be certain how talented the Haitians are but they do have some skills. Certainly, good boat men, seamen, raft/sea travellers. They made it across, whether out of spite, desperation or patriotism for their deposed leader. I do believe they deserve some credit if not encouragement.

'Black History Month' was celebrated 'only yesterday'. Living proof that the blacks, whether Haitian, French, or Jamaican do not have to be violent to show some 'spunk'. After quarantine is completed, we should share our resources. We build the slavish mentality within ourselves. Are we not 'all migrant immigrants?' Help your suffering brothers.

I am, etc.,

ELAINE FAY LEWIS
