Letter of the day - All must play a part in fighting crime
THE EDITOR, Sir: OVER THE past few weeks, our nation has been wailing over the state of crime in St. Catherine and more importantly the number and age of the lives murdered in such criminal activities.

'I went, I saw, I was conquered'
THE EDITOR, Sir: I WAS sceptical about seeing Mel Gibson's 'The Passion of the Christ.' I just did not like the hype surrounding it. But my curiosity got the better of me and so 'I went, I saw, I was conquered'.

Read the Bible in context
THE EDITOR, Sir: Re the letter titled, "Hypocrisy over Leviticus":

On the lives of mosquitoes
THE EDITOR, Sir: AFTER READING Martin Henry's interesting piece about malaria and mosquitoes, I was prompted to write a brief follow-up on mosquitoes.

Destruction and noise
THE EDITOR, Sir: I SAW a letter in The Gleaner by Anthony Moyston regarding obstruction of the beach and noise in Negril. He asks why these things are allowed to continue, and I have the answer.

A marked lack of discipline
THE EDITOR, Sir: IN RESPONSE to Stanley Redwood's letter on the reasons for the decline of West Indian cricket I must admit that I was worried. For I really thought that the decline had to do with a marked lack of discipline...

The smell of conspiracy
THE EDITOR, Sir: DO WE remember her? A 13-year-old with a future that held so much promise of her being a doctor, or was it a lawyer? Well who knows? We cannot know what she could have been or might have become as that chance was snatched from her.
