BOYS' TOWN and Bull Bay both have one foot in the final of the KSAFA Super League after registering 2-1 victories in yesterday's first leg semi-final doubleheader at the Tony Spaulding Sports Complex.

In the curtainraiser, Boys' Town got the better of Maverley/Hughenden, a result that was copied the second game which saw defending champions Santos going down by that margin to Bull Bay.

In the first game, 10-man Boys' Town showed that although they were stripped of their trademark red jerseys, they were prepared to hold on to their aspirations of making it to the final.

However, they had to wait until the 60th minute to make good on that aspiration. After a long battle for dominance with Maverley, the men from Rema broke the deadlock when the league's leading marksman, Michael Campbell, headed home an Andrew Wheeler cross.

The goal however did not flatten Maverley. Instead, they played with the same level of determination and purpose they exhibited up until that point.

In the 70th minute they were rewarded with what Boys' Town coach Andrew Price described as a "questionable penalty".

Jermaine Bailey, the man who was adjudged to have handled the ball in the penalty box, protested and was sent off for foul and abusive language. He however refused to leave the field and had to be ushered off by Price.

All this while, the ball was seated on the penalty spot, waiting to be kicked. Andre McLean was entrusted with the responsibility of pulling his team level and he stepped up to the plate and placed it clinically to the left of Kirk Porter.

However, Boys' Town had the last laugh when Fitzroy Anglin's header from a Delroy Smikle throw found its way into the back of Omar Williams' net in the 88th minute.

The script was almost the same for the Bull Bay-Santos match up. It was not until the 40th minute that the deadlock was broken courtesy of Milton Griffiths who gave Bull Bay the lead.

However, Richard West capitalised on poor defending by Dominique Spaulding, by scoring past Rauel Wilson in Bull Bay's goal to level the score at 1-1. But an excellent piece of follow-up work by Leon Small four minutes from time gave Bull Bay victory. Small pounced on a ball spilt by Santos' goalie Devon Haughton after Griffiths had shot at goal and tapped into the open net.
