THE EDITOR, Sir:
DUE TO uncontrolled circumstances of being unemployed, the children I was fostering had to be returned to the care of Children's Services Division.
However, after a few months, I began to miss the children and they themselves missed being at home (home to them is where I live) and wanted to get out of the Children's Home environment badly.
I proceeded to contact the Children's Services Division regarding giving me back the children. Well, it was a battle and a battle indeed. I was humiliated and was boldly told no. Then the children were also boldly told no. Tears were shed on both sides. However, I continued to pray and continued to have dialogue with different individuals at the Children's Services Division. I saw what was happening and I was determined to fight for the children.
The forgiving and merciful God is still on His throne and heard my prayer, and has touched a few persons hearts within the Children's Services, and I was granted the privilege of fostering the children once again.
I would like to give special thanks to Mr. Winston Bowen - director of Programmes; Mrs. Mavis Stewart acting regional director; Miss. Mercedes Johnson new case worker assigned.
I want to assure you all that you will not regret your decision in granting me the privilege once again of having the children.
I am, etc.,
SHIRLEY STEWART
