Poor treatment for mentally ill
published: Friday | April 16, 2004

THE EDITOR, Sir:

I MUST agree with the Learned Resident Magistrate, in the Montego Bay Court, Miss Valrie Stephens, about the poor treatment of the mentally ill in the justice system. I once waited three years for a psychiatric report for an accused man I was representing in the Gun Court.

I call on the Ministry of National Security & Justice to treat our brothers and sisters better and with much more respect. They are God's creation too.

I am, etc.,
