Stacey scores - Ford 'finds' hit model
published: Monday | April 19, 2004

SAINT INTERNATIONAL is celebrating yet another success as its first entrant to the Ford Supermodel of the World Competition, Stacey Sullivan, has been signed to FORD models worldwide. In addition, the budding model has been offered contract from top Spanish agency La Agencia in Barcelona, Spain. The latter agency also represents Saint model Canise Jackson.

Twenty-year-old Sullivan was discovered by Saint CEO Dewight Peters in May Pen last year at the CVM/Saint International Faces of Summer Model Search. Last October, she was selected from a field of 12 finalists in the Jamaican leg of the Ford Supermodel of the World Competition held at the Chinese Benevolent Association headquarters. The high-profile judges included Suzan Quillin, FORD's Worldwide Scouting Director and Emily Novak from Ford New York. It was the first time that Ford has sent two representatives to Jamaica to judge the event.

Sullivan recently competed in the Supermodel of the World finals staged at the prestigious New York Public Library in Bryant Park on January 20. She was one of 40 finalists from countries such as Kazakstan, Ukraine (winner of the event), Germany, Russia and South Africa. Jamaica was the only English-speaking Caribbean Country represented. Panama and Dominican Republic were the other two Caribbean islands competing.

As one of only two black contestants in the competition, the statuesque 5ft.11in. model with statistics 32-24-34, made her presence felt during the one-on-one interviews with the judges and agents who were drawn from some of the most powerful agencies worldwide including Beatrice-Milan, Models One London, Page Parkes-Dallas, ICE South Africa among others.

South Africa and Milan are also other markets expressing strong interest in her. She is expected to start with Ford Los Angeles and Chicago in June. Stacey was one of approximately 10 of the finalists who were signed by Ford, making her success that more poignant.
