Help for Hope
published: Monday | April 19, 2004

THE EDITOR, Sir:

I HAVE just read with distress, the story of the campaign to save Hope Comrie's Life. I know her personally because we were trained at Church Teachers College. I am willing to contribute and I live in London. I am imploring the Hope Comrie Benevolence Society in St. Elizabeth to have not only a national appeal but also an international one. Account numbers should be made known in New York, London, Toronto etc. so that we can contribute.

It is regularly quoted that there are more Jamaicans living abroad, than live there. Near to three million living there and three million living abroad. Quick maths: If everyone gives J$5 we can quickly get the $30m required to save Hope's life. Come on Jamaicans, we can do it. We must!

I am, etc.,
