To serve and protect self

THE EDITOR, Sir:
MAYBE I am the only fool in the Jamaican population because I just cannot understand the Police in Jamaica. At times, they can be so professional and at other times cast a doubt on their whole organisation.
I am writing in regard to both Adams and the heads of the organisation. Yes, Adams might have tarnished the image but the statement of the Police tarnishes it further, at least in my mind. The police heads seem to only investigate in an expeditious manner when it is in their interest. They know all that is going on when it is in their interest to protect the image of the police.
If the police can find out information so fast why is it they cannot find out criminal information which really counts? These are questions that need to be asked. I DO NOT agree with Adams on his tactics but I must agree with him on his statements on the police heads. Maybe it is the Jamaican people who are at fault and not the police because image is everything. So long as the image is good then everything irie. When will we Jamaicans see that some of those assigned to protect and serve are the same ones doing the crimes?
I am, etc.,
