Carib Christian Publications hosts open house Saturday
published: Thursday | April 22, 2004

THIS WEEKEND will be a big one for the Caribbean Christian Publications (CCP). On Saturday, it will convene a open house at its 27 Balmoral Avenue location in Kingston. The open house is free to the public and will begin at 10:00 a.m. and close at 3:00 in the afternoon.

On Sunday, the CCP will officially name its offices The Azariah McKenzie CBF Building. The building is to be dedicated in a ceremony scheduled to begin at 4:00 p.m. The CCP was birthed in 1975 in Jamaica as a ministry of the Caribbean Baptist Fellowship (CBF). It has as its main mission, the supply of culturally relevant material for Sunday Schools and Vacation Bible Schools.

The Rev. Azariah McKenzie was the first president of the CBF and remained on its executive until 1995 when he retired. He is also a past general secretary of the Jamaica Baptist Union.

The guest speaker for the dedication will be the Rev. Vincent Wood, pastor of the Emmanuel Baptist Church in Barbados and president of the Caribbean Baptist Fellowship.
