THE GLEANER Company to commemorate 'Secretaries' Day' - yesterday honoured 28 of its secretaries at a reception at the company's North Street offices, downtown Kingston. The secretaries were recognised for their contributions to the company's operations and achievements.
Christopher Roberts, deputy managing director, noted that The Gleaner was privileged to have what he called 'an exceptional group of secretaries', adding that... "We are blessed by a dedicated, loyal and efficient group of secretaries and I want to thank you for the job you do."
Mr. Roberts praised the secretaries for being good customer service representatives, saying they did their job with an extremely high level of professionalism while demonstrating a level of confidentiality that was par excellence.
The ceremony commenced with a short address by Barbara Williams, a secretary at the company. She reminded her colleagues to practice the secretaries' week theme - Ambassadors of Excellence - by striving for the best.
"An obvious hall mark of a secretary is that she should always be striving for excellence," she said.
Toasts were given by managers representing various departments and who also presented gifts of appreciation to the secretaries.
