Three teams record victories

SCHOOLBOYS DOMINATED the third round of the Jamaica Cricket Association's (JCA) Senior League as only three teams recorded victories.

Young Jamaican players Xavier Marshall of York Castle (185), Munro's Jamie Goodheart (130 not out) and Kingston College's Jamie Trenchfield (105 not out) led their team to a 189-run victory over Kingston and St. Andrew at Maxfield Park.

Holmwood schoolboy Kadian McKenzie (108 not out) scored the weekend's fourth century, but his team Hanover lost on first innings to St. Ann.

Elsewhere, St. James defeated Clarendon by 39 runs at Cornwall College and St. Thomas beat Portland by 87 runs at Goodyear Oval. In other matches, St. Ann and Police secured first innings over Hanover and Trelawny respectively.

At Maxfield Park: Kingston and St. Andrew 84 (Albert Gopie 4-18) and 273 (Emile Green 98; Marshall 4-41). Jamaica Under-19s 546 for two declared (Marshall 185, Goodheart 130 not out, Trenchfield 105 not out, Marlon Johnson 93).

At Goodyear Oval: St. Thomas 211 (Oneil Wright 79; Geoffery Flemmings 5-70, Dwain Stona 4-63) and 221 for six declared (Rasheed Outar 58, Orlando Jamieson 51). Portland 126 (Cecil Lewis 42; Calvin Powell 6-23, Clinton Bent 3-42) and 219 (Lerome Tyrell 60; Jowayne Robinson 4087, Calvin Powell 3-36).

At Cornwall College: St. James 178 (Dwight Washington 39; Tavare Green 5-34, Sadique Brown 3-66) and 179 (Nicarlo McFarlane 43; Brown 5-77, JaiPaul Powell 3-41). Clarendon 94 (McFarlane 6-29, Odean Ewart 4-37) and 224 (Jermaine Edwards 53; McFarlane 6-77).

At Elgintown: St. Ann 326 for eight declared (Victor Barracks 92, Chris Green 60; Damian Davidson 5-23. Hanover 212 and 291 for seven (Kadian McKenzie 108 not out, Marley Whitter 51).

At Elletson Road: Police 355 for seven declared (Baldwin Virgo 94, Renford Bodie 54; Vinroy Dell 3-60, Lorenzo Ingram 2-96) and 64 for three (Ricardo Howe 35; Oshane Spence 2-29). Trelawny 272 (Tariq White 56, Lorenzo Ingram 44; Rohan Belight 4-46, Deancourt Wright 3-60).
