Enhancing Turtle River Park
published: Saturday | April 24, 2004

THE EDITOR, Sir:

I HAVE lived in Ocho Rios all my life and I have watched the development of this little town into the beautiful place it is now. However I am prompted to write this letter in regards to the newly developed Turtle River Park which I consider to be one of the best projects undertaken in this town. It is like a breath of fresh air.

When the project started I can vouch that many persons had no idea that it would be a park, so instead of pouring concrete they are planting grass. I have a suggestion which I think would enhance the features of the park both for the locals and visitors alike and that is to add a miniature golf (putting) course whether real or artificial grass and charge a nominal fee to use it. I am certain that the proceeds from this venture if properly managed would help greatly towards the upkeep of the park.

I hope the relevant authorities give some serious consideration to my suggestion.

I am, etc.,
