New CSAV service for Kingston
published: Tuesday | April 27, 2004

GRACE, KENNEDY Shipping Company Limited has announced the commencement of a new direct service from the Mediterranean to Kingston, being offered by its principal Compania Sudamericana de Vapores (CSAV). The new service is expected to begin on May 3, 2004.

Under the new service, CSAV vessels will call at the ports of Salerno, Livorno and Genoa in Italy as well as Barcelona and Valencia in Spain, after which, they will visit Kingston with a transit time of only 12 days.

The Chilean-based Line will make its first arrival for this service with the vessel CSAV Livorno voyage 413.

General Manager of Grace Shipping, Loxley Tulloch, said the service not only augers well for Kingston's continued prominence as the premier transshipment hub in the region, but also opens up several exciting possibilities for improved services to our customers.

"We are delighted to be offering this new service to customers," Mr. Tulloch observed.

CSAV, founded in 1872 is a member of the New Caribbean Service (NCS) and Eurosal services which call at ports within Western Europe and the west coast of South America. Grace Shipping has represented the line locally for more than six (6) years.
