Ja's precious jewels
published: Wednesday | April 28, 2004

THE EDITOR, Sir:

THANK YOU for the article in The Gleaner April 23, 2004 entitled 'Take Negril in Hand Now'. It sounded like I was reading about my 'loved but lost' Ocho Rios and Turtle Bay Beaches.

Tourists and locals alike are realising that the precious jewels of Jamaica, land we love, our beaches are being stolen under our very eyes by the clutches of the things you have described in you article. I wish the people in power in Jamaica would realise that getting big dollars from the tourism industry won't last if the money is not channelled toward the very product which everyone loves about our beautiful country. That is our magnificent and majestic beaches.

I am, etc.'
