Good police do exist
published: Thursday | April 29, 2004

THE EDITOR, Sir:

I WRITE to make the public aware that we do have, in Jamaica, good police. I had an incident the other night and I called 119. The call was answered within two rings and a police team was dispatched from Constant Spring police station. Sergeant Walker and Constable Shand arrived within 15 minutes of the call. When they arrived they greeted many citizens that had beat a person that you could see was not a killer, but just a petty thief that needed some food and special care.

The officers handled the situation very professionally and Sergeant Walker made sure to see that the robber did not have any broken bones from the apparent beating he got. He also spoke very politely to all persons involved and made sure to have his partner take a full statement of what had happened.

I found Sergeant Walker's professional attitude and the way he took control of the situation to have given us all a great sense of security in knowing that there are police that we can depend on for justice and safety in our country.

I also want to congratulate Hawkeye and King Alarms for also acting quickly when they were also called and showing that they can also work as one team together for our security.

I am, etc.,

PETER SHOUCAIR, J.P.
