Jamaica's ongoing killing spree
THE REPORT by the police that 27 people were murdered in the past week, in addition to 29 cases of shooting, is not at all comforting.

Court orders retrial in murder case
A JUDGE'S directive to a jury to deliberate further and return in half an hour with a verdict in a murder case has led to the Court of Appeal ordering a retrial for Orville Fitzerald, otherwise called "Yellowman".


New president appointed for JUTC
PATRICK MCINTOSH, former managing director of the West Indies Alumina Company (WINDALCO), has been appointed president of the state-owned Jamaica Urban Transit Company (JUTC).


Hazardous waste site needed
