THE GATES of several schools in the troubled Arnett Gardens/Jones Town communities of south St. Andrew, remained closed for the second day yesterday, following the spate of sporadic shootings between rival gun-toting gangs.

Reports are that the incident, which escalated into pitched gun battles Wednesday when scores of residents were chased out of their homes, has started to impact on students enrolled at the Charlie Smith and Trench Town high schools. These students are preparing for CXC examinations later this month.
