Hanging should be resumed
published: Friday | April 30, 2004

THE EDITOR, Sir:

KINDLY PERMIT me space in your newspaper to express my views on why I think hanging should be resumed. As a Jamaican citizen I strongly believe that the Government should reactivate hanging criminals, reason being I think the crime rate would drop significantly, providing a safer environment for our senior citizens; also tourism, which is our primary source of foreign exchange to the economy. This would contribute to primary growth for both the hotel industry and the private sector.

I also think that if hanging were in progress we would have an increase in tourist stopovers in the island. Let's bring the land of wood and water and sunshine as she was before.

I am, etc.,
