Review the 'no right turn' road signs
published: Monday | May 3, 2004

THE EDITOR, Sir:

I NOTE with observation, street signs which read 'No Right Turn Mondays-Fridays between the hours of 7:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m'.

The reason for this is quite obvious; it is to prevent vehicles moving across one or two lanes of traffic during this specified day and time.

However, I suggest that the sign should also include 'Except Public Holidays', because the volume of traffic has been tremendously reduced, so there should be no need to have that 'No Right Turn' enforced.

Our police officers do have a duty to enforce the law also on a public holiday for infringement of these signs, but is it really fair to do so?

Will the Traffic Engineering Department reconsider?

I am, etc.,
