Looking for a new dawn on the education horizon
THE EDITOR, Sir: AT THE National Validation Roundtable on April 21, 2004 the National Vision for Education was articulated and validated by a wide cross section of concerned Jamaicans.

Education, a casualty of politics
THE EDITOR, Sir: I AM a Jamaican living in Canada, and I have reluctantly come to the conclusion that the Jamaican education system has become a casualty of politics.

Will Simpson Miller still become PM?
THE EDITOR, Sir I AM very disappointed that Mrs. Simpson Miller will not be given the chance to become Prime Minister of Jamaica.

Give teachers some credit
THE EDITOR, Sir: I HAVE observed with dismay the scant regard given to our nation's teachers. Many critics have suggested that students' poor performance is to be blamed solely on teachers.

US foreign policy
THE EDITOR, Sir: DESPITE THE sanctimonious stance taken by the United States Ambassador to Trinidad and Tobago, in regard to Professor Rex Nettleford's cogent, true, and to the point comments...

Ridiculous manslaughter sentence
THE EDITOR, Sir: MY GOD, what is this country coming to? I've just finished reading your article on the cab driver who was given a mere 2 1/2 years for manslaughter.

Mandeville's inadequate water supply
THE EDITOR, Sir: ANOTHER FACTORY has been engulfed in flames because of an inadequate supply of water in Mandeville.

Commodore forgotten
THE EDITOR, Sir: DONALD RHODD MP for East Portland, do you remember the community of Commodore in your East Portland constituency? What about our non-existent roads? When will we have roads? If ever.

Demon possession
THE EDITOR, Sir: I READ with interest Mark Dawes' article on the phenomenon of demon possession and the Ministry of Deliverance based on his interview of the Rev Lloyd Maxwell.
