C&WJ honours nation's teachers
published: Friday | May 7, 2004

CABLE & Wireless Jamaica (C&WJ) in recognition of the significant contribution made by teachers to the nation's development on 'Teachers' Day' demonstrated its appreciation by presenting gift baskets to all the teachers at the Linstead Primary and Junior High School in St. Catherine, as well as the Rock River All-Age School in Clarendon on Wednesday.

The gifts, which were happily received by the principals and staff at both schools, were presented by C&WJ's Corporate Communications Officer Philip Hamilton, and May Pen Business Office Supervisor Sherril Coleman to Linstead Primary and Junior High and Rock River All-Age School, respectively.

PREPARING JAMAICA'S YOUTH

Mrs. Loretta Henry, acting principal of Linstead Primary and Junior High, commended C&WJ for acknowledging the teachers' efforts in preparing Jamaica's youth for the future, and thanked the company for the assistance it had provided to the school over the years.

Principal of Rock River All-Age, Mr. E.B. Oliver, expressed similar sentiments and noted that the company had also provided invaluable assistance in many areas at his school and was highly appreciated by teachers, students, and the community.

Linstead Primary and Junior High and Rock River All-Age are two of three schools adopted by Cable & Wireless Jamaica as part of the company's contribution towards providing educational assistance to the nation's schools.
