Long and frustrating
published: Friday | May 14, 2004

THE EDITOR, Sir:

I would like to know why the process of getting a National Identification Card takes a whole three months to be prepared and returned to you. I understand that the preparation takes some time but why can't it be like a few weeks or even two months.

Another thing is if we have lost our birth certificate we have to travel all the way to Kingston to get a new one. I would think that one advantage of being the second city would be that we have all the right materials and persons needed to deal with these important documents so as to avoid the long and frustrating trip to Kingston.

I am, etc.,

T. A. FARQUHARSON
