Ritch crossed red line
published: Tuesday | May 18, 2004

THE EDITOR, Sir:

Your columnist Dawn Ritch crossed a proverbial red line in her May 16 piece titled "A Shocking Slave Mentality." Her poor manners in berating the Most Honourable Prime Minister P. J. Patterson was bad enough but it was her arguments against Jamaica helping our suffering Haitian brothers and sisters that made Ritch so nauseatingly unbearable.

By berating those needy Haitians and maligning our Prime Minister for offering Christian help, Dawn Ritch crossed a red line.

Ritch should be glad that Mr. Patterson is such a long-suffering gentleman. Miss Ritch, we have got your message which is now old and worn out. You are anti-Black and pro-White. You are anti-Jamaican and pro-American. You love Eddie Seaga and hate P. J. Patterson.

You do not believe that anything good can come out of the Caribbean. You and George W. Bush are birds of a feather.

I am etc.,
