Her racial overtones
published: Tuesday | May 18, 2004

THE EDITOR, Sir:

Dawn Ritch writes in her column on Sunday, that the Government accepted Haitian refugees as an act of self aggrandisement. Even if this was true it still is the right thing to do. I would hope she is not suggesting that the Government address all the problems of the country before welcoming
one refugee.

Her attempt to attach racial overtones to this matter is very puzzling.
