No deadline extension
published: Wednesday | May 19, 2004

THE EDITOR, Sir:

I WRITE with reference to the story appearing on the front page of your May 11 publication captioned 'SLB says no to latecomers'. The story was very definitive in its report on whether or not the Bureau will offer an extension to applicants who were not able to submit their applications before the deadline.

In fact the writer, Mr. Tyrone Reid, should have made it clear that, my statement that there will be no extension of the deadline was spoken in the context of the bureau having no plans to extend the deadline. The quote is incomplete and I wish to make that abundantly clear.

The Students Loan Bureau's official position is that there is no plan to extend the deadline.

I am, etc.,

NATALIE GOLLAB

Public Relations Officer

Students' Loan Bureau
