Businessmen, police on drug rap remanded
published: Wednesday | May 19, 2004

THERE WAS an unusual heavy police presence on Monday at the Corporate Area Criminal Court, facilitating the appearance of the three high profile businessmen and a police corporal who were held last month during a joint international drug operation.

The four men, Norris Nembhard, alias 'Deedo' of Runaway Bay, St Ann; Robroy Williams, alias 'Spy', a 47-year-old businessman of Montego Bay, St. James; Vivian Dalley, 46, taxi operator, also of Montego Bay and Herbert Henry, 46, alias 'Scarry' of the Jamaica Constabulary Force (JCF) were denied bail when they appeared before Senior Resident Magistrate Martin Gayle.

Head of the Narcotics Division, Senior Superintendent Carl Williams, confirmed that the men have been scheduled to returned to court on June 23.

The men were arrested on provisional warrants to be extradited to the United States to face charges for allegedly conspiring to traffic cocaine and ganja into that country.
